Visited here for tea tasting. We were escorted down to the seating by a really friend staff member, sorry cant remember name. He explained to us about coffee making and plants used in teamaking and some of their methods which were informative without being too long. Sat for free tea tasting which was great and couple we were with decided to have a go on the swings. £10 each, no queues and staff gave a really fun personal experience. Escorted back to shop and brought some teas before leaving (about£5 a pack). Thoroughly enjoyable.

If you are looking for "Bali Swing," this is not the original however it does offer a swing. There is a misconception that there is one Bali swing, however Uma Pakel Agro Tourism also offers their own. I think many visitors are being misguided to other Balinese swings, and Uma Pakel is potentially losing out on those customers. Add "swings" to the name.

That said, this is a great place to experience for first time visitors to the Ubud area. My wife and I hired a car through our resort requesting a visit to the Bali Swing. While we did not make it to that location, I think we found the less crowded option.

Here's what we didn't expect. When you arrive an employee of Uma Pakel Agro will meet you and act as a "guide." You will be escorted through a small plant area as they introduce local fauna. Then you will be led into the "coffee plantation." It really is nothing more than a 40' x 40' area that shows how coffee is roasted, ground and the famous luwak coffee cats. We had seen this all on another tour and kindly asked to skip it. I think that surprised our guide, but why waste 20 minutes looking at a staged tourism coffee plantation.

From there you're continued to be escorted into the swing area. There are three main swings, two "nests," and a small covered area. We visited at 11AM on a weekday. If you're not from the southern hemisphere, you will roast in the sun. I wish we would have gone a little earlier. The lines were 3-4 deep per swing, but the nests were 7-10 deep. The cost is per swing: facing forward and then backwards for about 8 rotations. I think it was roughly $15 USD per adult, not bad for the experience. I will give our guide kudos, he was excellent in taking photographs for us and he acted as a line placement if we tucked into the shade. Our advice, go early in the day or later in the evening to avoid the sun and lines.

At the conclusion our guide offered us coffee at least 3 more times. Having sampled coffee at an actual coffee plantation and the heat was exceeding 90 degrees we politely declined each time. From start to finish with bypassing the coffee exercise, allow a hour for two adults to swing once and visit the nest. There are some great photo opportunities here, and overall we were pleased with the experience.

On the way to the Tegalalang rice terraces.
Nice views for photos if you do the swings. Civets looked sad, we didn't want to try/buy the kopi luwak since it was produced from civets in cages.

Our private driver suggested here for coffee and the swing. And we had a great experience doing both.
We first went through how the coffee is made and was able to have a go an grinding the coffee beans.
Next stop was the swing. With various options but reasonable priced. I opted to hire a dress for the photos too but again this wasn’t expensive and made all the difference to the photos. Our guide too pics and videos on my phone so no extra cost there.
Lastly we had free coffee samples and paid for a lewak coffee as it’s special to Bali.
We had a great couple of hours here. And would highly recommend going.

We went here as per our recommendation of our driver since we told him we wanted to try the swing in ubud. I must say that it's a lot cheaper than the other place. There are three levels of swing and we decided to try the highest one for 150K IDR. They would push you for several times (20 facing forward and another 20 facing backward). Just enough to get your instagram shots and superb videos. I totally enjoyed the experience. Afterwards, we were able to sit and taste the teas and coffees for free. I ordered luwak coffee on the side so that's an additional 50k. I don't mind the price. I mean people pay more than that for a Starbucks's frap, so I thought it was pretty reasonable and would help their agri business. I must say, the teas were all good.

Regretted buying coffee at Uma Pakel souvenir shop, it's too expensive. Just go buy at Duty Free Shop at the Airport, it's so much cheaper and probably better quality.

Stopped in to see the swings and had a lovely guide take us on a brief tour of the coffee process and explain about luwak coffee and as an added bonus they bring you a flight of about 20 different teas and coffees to sample. ( free! ) Also tried a cup of luwak coffee as well.
Then on to the swing, as scary ( for me at least ) as it looked, it was quite exhilarating and fun. Also felt safe as you are seat belted in. Got 5 or 6 pushes facing forward and backwards which our guide captured wonderfully. It was a visit I won’t long forget.

Great coffee and also had a tour on how the coffee is produced. You also get a selections of various teas to try. Would definately recommend. Coffee is about 65k IDR which I would say is fairly priced.

We visited this store, because it was recommended by our driver. He said that there is a free tasting of different coffees and teas, and at the end you don't have to buy anything if you don't want. Which is true. We did the tasting and most of the teas and aromatic coffees were so sweet it was difficult to tell if they were any good. The non aromatic coffee, both normal and luwak was very flat, but i figured it was because it was so diluted and that the coffee had to have potential if brewed correctly. So we went to the store and bought various things including 500 g of whole beans Bali coffee for 375k rp (750k/kg which is almost 50 eur/kg). At home we realised that inside the box were 3 bags of less than 440 g of coffee together. And to top it off the coffee is terrible, the lowest grade, looks and tastes like saw dust. Shame on them, Bali has great coffee that they could fairly sell it for a profit, instead of scamming people, i doubt they even grow any coffee themselves. It seems human greed is alive and well on Bali. As a tourist avoid at all cost!
