The largest and most famous plantation in Nuwara eliya area. The Mackwoods references are gone since its acquisition by Labookellie but the essentials remain the same. On arrival you'll be greeted automatically by a guide who will show you around the processing building explaining the...More

Our guide showed no interest or inclination to provide any information to us. When a Chinese family wondered into the area, she became so charming and animated with them. She provided lengthy explanations in Chinese and sometimes neglected to say anything at all in English....More

I stopped in this factory on my way to Kandy because it seemed the most important one. The factory is located in the middle of tea plantations and you can taste your tea with an amazing view. However the guided tour at the factory itself...More

The factory is small which is fine but the tour wasn't that informative. We got a rushed overview of how the tea was actually made which was interesting enough but tour guide was uninterested. We skipped a tour in the Amba tea factory because Labookellie...More

Excellent informative tour that gave enough information but not too much. Followed by tea and chocolate cake! The gift shop is lovely but the tea is not cheap - priced the same or more than a decent brand at home. But still worth a stop.

We had a change of plantation visit owing to timings and this was not what we expected. Initial impressions of a huge factory were not favourable. However, the tour was very detailed and informative, the tea tasty and we were able to go on some...More
