If you like to learn something about the history, this is a good place to go. The constructions and landscape are old-fashioned. There are also art exhibitions held regularly.

We had fun shoppping, but thought we would see more craft demonstrations or DIY. The items available were of high quality and we had a nice afternoon walking around.

Though quite commercialized, I think it’s still worth a visit. Side performance, cultural exhibits and shops are of high quality.

This vintage oriental themed centre was unexpectedly the highlight of our yilan trip. It has shops selling unique souvenirs which we tend not to see in Taipei, and also interesting performances held at different timing. This is along one of the recommended cycling paths.

The admission fee is 150 NTD per person. The place mainly consists of a recreation of old streets. The shops not only sell exquisite handmade arts, but also have demonstrations and workshops (separate payment for workshops, but reasonably priced). I thoroughly enjoyed the tie-dye workshop...More

Lots of great stalls of different crafts and craftsman teaching amazing workshops - DIY leather works, pottery, tie dye etc etc. There are beautifully handmade items for sale too. As well as great coffee stops and tea ceremonies. Can easily spend a whole day here.
