Long path where you can run/walk/bike past Monona terrace, the lake, and even can end up by Olin park for more exploration. If you end up by olin park and head back into madison, you can see the entire capitol and skyline in front of...More

This shoreline trail is very popular for locals bikers but may not be so for out of town travelers. The trail has lanes designated for walkers and bikers. This trail is built to go around the calmer and smaller Lake Manona. Exercisers can walk, jog,...More

It is nice and relaxing to take a walk or run near Monona Lake. You can rent a bike and spend the day biking around the lake too.

This is a beautiful trail along the lake. It is mostly shaded. It starts (or ends) at the Terrace of Univ. of Wis. This is a fun place to stretch or get a bite to eat or drink.

This is a great training course for a longer race. You can easily vary the distance from 11.5 miles on up. There a few short hills but mostly flat and the views of the isthmus and capitol are inspiring when you're feeling a little tired....More

I'm training for a half marathon right now and running around the lake is about 11.6 miles so it's a great training run and very scenic.

Love this run. Park on Willy St or at Olin Park for a great 2-3 miles along the lake (double up if you go out-and-back) or add distance by running further down Willy Street, or further along the bike path (avoid crossing the major road...More
