Beautiful old southern charm homes and mansions. In the spring & summer is the time to go there. Stop at Superior Seafood at the corner of St Charles & Napoleon Ave. Sit at he bar. The place will be packed.

Did a walking tour, but would happily walk around here unguided. The cemetery is close by and very interesting as well.

This is a beautiful area to walk around. The exact opposite of the French Quarter. These homes are full of grandeur and indulgence of the time they were built. If your are doing a self guided walk through here, you can get a walking map...More

We took the Hop On Hop Off Bus to the Garden District. We did a little window shopping, had lunch at the Red Dog Diner and did a self guided walking tour we had on our phone. There is a Starbucks right near the bus...More

We took the St. Charles streetcar from Canal Street and used our phone to take self-guided tour. Was good directions to each of the houses and Lafayette Cemetary.

We saw this whilst on a bus tour and it was beautiful. The area is very well kept and lots of interesting facts were given on the area.

We were staying in the French Quarter but wanted to see a different part of town. Easy to get to by the St Charles street car. Nice, relaxing change of pace from the busy Bourbon Street crowds and noise. Charming historical homes you can see...More

Take your time strolling through this neighborhood filled with beautiful homes, sprawling trees, and neat architecture! Would recommend a walking tour or self-guided tour to point out the special highlights.

Commander’s Palace in the Garden District has free maps in their entry way. They give a walking route to take and have a brief summary of the important addresses. It was very good.
