Neighbourhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

So majestic and beautiful. Pews are authentic and well kept. The highlight is the grotto to the side of the church that has a statue of St. Bernadette and votive candles to burn, then you go into the gift shop that has many things to buy. My "must stop" whenever I am in NOLA

I attended the Jazz Mass on April 7th, 2019 with several friends while vacationing in New Orleans. This was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Being from the Midwest, our Masses are much quieter & more subdued. Can't begin to tell you how this Mass really affected me. First off, the church is very old & historic in the city of N.O. But the FEELING in that church - the soulful beautiful music - and the comaradarie of those people..... No words can really tell you what it felt like. Many of what I assume were local parishoners greeted each other with hugs & handshakes, old & young, all races, it was just absolutely heartwarming. These people in this parish really love each other. When it was time to pray the Our Father - people sitting on the inside all stepped into the center aisle - myself included- to reach the people on the other side - every person in that church holding hands to pray together. How I wish I could bring that Mass experience back to Wisconsin with me! Please take time during your visit to New Orleans - for 1 hour of your Sunday - to give yourself the experience you'll remember forever!

We attended 11:30 mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (Shrine to St. Jude) over 5 years ago, and have attended almost every Sunday since. Their 9:30 and 11:30 mass has wonderful upbeat music - sort of a jazz mass - that has your heart filled with love and joy when you leave. Fr. Tony is an excellent priest that gives very meaningful homilies, and they are truly short and to the point. A perfect church to take someone to if they have not been going to church, or dread going to church each week. My heart feels a little different when I am out of town and can't attend mass here.

The church is fabulous with so many stunning pieces. The alter was breathtaking the detail of the pieces was like nothing seen before and have visited many churches and cathedrals. The painted ceiling also had such detail and beautiful colors. Well with visiting. The woman in the gift shop was so kind and helpful.

We went to mass on Sunday at 9:30 and it ended up being a jazz mass. Very friendly people who are aware of every person in the church. They knew we were strangers and had fun with it. They asked my girlfriend for ID coming into the church and then laughed when she looked for it in her purse. The music and energy was unbelievable. Fr. Tony Rigoli was the celebrant and he added his own level of energy to the whole mass. I'm use to going to mass.... but this was MASSSS and a celebration. It felt like an event.

In New Orleans, there are lots of place to go to mass on a Sunday morning. This place has good music and is much more interacial than most churches in this town. Very welcoming.

Attended 9.30 Jazz mass here. The church was packed. Father Tony gave an entertaining service. The stars here are the jazz choir who gave a show quality performance. This is an experience any catholic visiting NOLA should have.

It is a fabulous church and the Sunday Mass at 11:30 is an experience. You have to witness it to believe it. It is a must if u are Catholic or not.

This is a quaint lotto church that is well off the Main Street. It also claims to have a little grotto from Lourdes. Nice statute off to the side.
