Description:

Ride with us at Confederacy of Cruisers, New Orleans original and oldest...

Ride with us at Confederacy of Cruisers, New Orleans original and oldest bike tour company. Going on 10 years of great tours and great customers keeping us feeling like the luckiest folks in New Orleans every day when we come to work. The tour that started them all and our others, the Culinary, the History of Drinking and our combined Pedal to Paddle with our friends at Kayakityat.

New Orleans is so more than the French Quarter and we want to show you what most visitors don't get to experience. The heart of our city is seen through its other historic neighborhoods on the Creole side of Town, the beautiful Faubourg Marignyand Bywater; and there is no better way to explore them than with New Orleans' original bicycle tour company. Join us as we take you for a bike ride around the old streets and tell you the stories of the New Orleans that most tourists miss. The ride is relaxed, with plenty of time to ask questions, and a stop along the way at a neighborhood bar where you can find out all you want about local life while drinking a delicious Bloody Mary, if you like (water or nothing are also fine choices). For those who want to delve a little deeper, we offer a tasty Neighborhood Culinary Tour and a Historic Drinking Tour (where you get to indulge as you learn), all travelling through our our city like the locals do, on easy to ride classic cruiser bicycles. One speed, slow.

Really enjoyed the 4 hours we spent with Victor and a family of 3 from the UK. Victor took us to 4 places we would have never found and each was unique and great food. Victor can really talk food and New Orleans (history, culture, etc.) and I loved to learn from a local. Don't get him started on Mardi... More

Derek, our guide, did not disappoint. He led us through streets and neighborhoods that exposed us not only to the beauty and soul of NOLA, but the flaws and tragedy that has shaped her. It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon, "exercising" and learning...and of course, grabbing a beverage at a local bar was the ideal way to... More

Great time with Lara. The ride is easy if you're used to even occasional urban biking. The drinks were all homeruns.

The tour took us to parts of town we may not have visited on our own. The 4 restaurants we stopped at were eclectic and all very good.

We loved this trip. Started with plantains (yum) and black eyed pea puff things, then headed toward to lake. Tried some gumbo, muffulleta, shrimp po boy. Perfect--all on my list to try while in New Orleans, able to have just a sample instead of order whole ones on our own. Then Delicious crawfish. Ended with a bakery/gelato stop--able to pick... My husband and I had the pleasure of joining three other couples on the Culinary Tour last week. Victor was our guide thru the streets of the French Quarter, Bywater and Marigny districts. We visited four eating establishments, Elizabeth's, St. Roch Market, Bennachin's and Loretta's Praline's located at the French Market. All of the food was ordered by Victor and... More

Very easy riding since New Orleans is completely flat. LOL. Saw some interesting historic buildings, churches, homes and parks along the way with a pit stop at a local dive bar. A fun way for first time visitors to get out of the French Quarter tourist area and see the other side of New Orleans

This was such a great experience. We had a group of 14 for a bachelor party! The tour guide Cassidy was a marvelous tour guide with an overwhelming wealth of knowledge and fun facts about New Orleans. He kept a wild bunch of guys enthralled with the history and exciting past of the quarter. We stopped into some local watering... More

The food tour is great - goes to places that in all likelihood you would never go to, but the food is a total delight. Victor chose excellent food options, with a range of different things to try - all nicely balanced so that you didn't get filled up too quickly. And with great cycling interludes

Last year, we took the cocktail tour. This year, the Creole tour. Both were excellent. What I love about this company is the relaxed approach. The guides want you to have a good time before the tour and after. They even give out a list of restaurants and bars, from high end to dive bar. All of them the type... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
