We stopped in here to see what the mall had after a day in the city. Definitely higher end stores are here but it's a nice cool inside place to go and shop if you are tired of the trinket tshirts stores.

Our "regular" parking lot was full so we tried this parking garage. BIG MISTAKE. We drove around the parking garage--that's all we did. there was a line of several cars that drove all the way to the top and all the way back down. There were NO OPEN places. Then, we were charged $19! Go over to the Outlet Mall... More

If you're tired of wandering through all of the tacky and not-so-tacky souvenir and gift stores in the French Quarter then a short stroll down Canal Street to the Canal Place Mall is a perfect diversion. It's not a large mall but it does pack in a lot of high end stores including Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffanys, Brooks Bothers, Michael... More

The cornerstone of this collection of high end shops is Saks Fifth Avenue (we can't even afford to window shop here) but there are many other shops tucked away in this Canal Place complex. It's worth a visit, just to window shop. It is also the entryway to the Wyndham Hotel, so you have to take the elevator to the... More

After spending an afternoon walking the riverfront and around Bourbon Street, this quiet shopping area was a nice break. The Tiffany's is fabulous. There is a multiplex theater on the top floor.

Coming from a small town with a very basic movie theater, this movie experience was a real treat! Small theaters, huge screen, rock/recline seats, and seat side service! The menu is prolific and the bar options are plentiful! So much fun! Buy your tickets online and pick out your seats!

It's a nice pretty large mall, lots of upscale stores, and some normal regular ones too. Clean with a nice tourist clientele.

Easy to get into Parking garage. Go to foot of Canal Street by the River. Visitors driving in compare what your hotel on Canal Street is charging you for overnight parking and then this place. It's cheaper. Only thing is you will have to carry your bags several blocks down the street. Has to be worth it for you. Good... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
