We were told there was some jazz on when we went in. The food turned out to be expensive and, frankly, not very good. The drinks were also overpriced. When it finally got to the jazz it turned out that there was a $20 charge....More

Really enjoyed the Friday night show featuring the Ellis Marsalis quintet. Bought our tickets online a couple days ahead. Small, intimate venue with general seating, but really there's not a bad seat in the house. Concert lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes. Did not disappoint!

The music is great in this small jazz bistro. They serve two popular (very large) rum drinks (I can't remember the names) you can sip on and stroll Frenchmen! Must try!

The food here was better than some of the places we had eaten in New Orleans and the service was good too. We here ate before the show, so that we were located close by, which was lucky as it turned out as the rain...More

We enjoyed dinner, we had the fried filet of fish with creamy creole sauce. The server attempted to get us to change our order to the blackened redfish, we politely declined. He then served us the blackened redfish anyway, which I returned and then waited...More

Ate before we saw the show and the food was very good. We saw the Monday night show with one of the Neville Sisters. Wow what a man hater she is. Every song

Heard Ellis Marsalis and his trio in an evening concert. Wonderful, wonderful jazz in the old style. Intimate setting - maybe 40 people at small tables.

Do not eat here. We wanted something other than seafood and orders burgers. The burgers are served with a baked potato and not french fries. The food was awful. Go for the music but eat elsewhere.

We walked to this location from our hotel. Spent all our time on Frenchmans street and the Lamothe House told us this was the place for really great jazz. They were right. We were there and able to hear Germaine Bazzle and others play the...More

I agree with Stephen. They're in separate locations of the building. I would go earlier and try to get seated in the performance area.

I believe it's between an hour and an hour-and-a-half. We heard Charmaine Neville (of the famous musical family) and she was terrific. She invites other artists up to perform, if they're in the audience, and that's the... More

I believe there are two performances every night at 8:00 and 10:00pm. You an check the website to confirm and see scheduled entertainers. If 8:00pm isn't too late, I think your 12-year old grandson would enjoy.
