HAND GRENADES!!!

If in the area have to stop for a New Orleans tradition of Hand Grenades. WOW! Be careful not to knock back too many of these as they are potent, but very good.

Tropical Isle, the home of the hand grenade. This drink is a MUST try when you go to Bourbon street. It comes in a cool cup that is neon green and has a long neck and the bottom is shaped like a grenade. You get to keep the cup! $10 for one and $9 for a refill. It is a... More

One of my favorite places in NOLA. The Hand Grenades are the best drink in NOLA. Strong drink, live music, bourbon Street...what more could you want!

We tried the Hand Grenade, Horny Gator, and Tropical Itch, and they were all fantastic. The larges came in souvenir cups that make a great keepsake from the trip. The bar itself had a great atmosphere. Definitely a must do on Bourbon!

I was on Bourbon buying grenades in November, then came back in February 2017 for Mardi Gras festivities and the grenades had changed. DRASTICALLY! Price in Nov was $8, Price in Feb was $10. They had alcohol in them in Nov, NO alcohol in Feb. My party and I remarked that usually one grenade, and you feel it as we... More

Best afternoon bar on Bourbon street!! Same band 6 days a week that takes requests and if they don't know it they still try to fake it!! Great lead singer!! Watch for the lights as drink specials pop up every so often. Laid back but home of the hand grenade (drink at your own risk). Loved this place!!!

Same great hand grenades. They still Make them strong. We got one for Old time's sake and it didn't disappoint. They are $9 each now.

Even if sweet drinks aren’t your thing, it’s worth it to watch the ceremony surrounding the making of a Shark Attack at Tropical Isle. Better yet, buy one for your friend! Hand Grenades are also available at Tropical Isle.

They say you have to have the Hand Grenade when in New Orleans, so of course we ducked into Tropical Isle. The place was disgusting and full of people, with the crowd so big that no one was dancing but everyone was kind of swaying back and forth together with the music. We fought our way to the bar, grabbed... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
