We really enjoyed our evening at this jazz bar, as did a house full of patrons. This wasn't our first visit there, and it won't be our last. The staff was efficient and helpful there are one or two regular bands that play a few days at a time , though we're usually there for the same band.

Your experience will all depend on the bands that are playing when you visit. We went early on a Saturday night and even though the band was good I found it strong ether they had chairs set up on the back of the dance floor in rows for people to sit in. There was not a band set up to... More

A gem amongst the chaos of Bourbon Street. I saw a band do two sets - piano, drums, tuba, sax, trombone. Exceptional artists. Bar service was quick and attentive. Drinks were reasonable for a city.

We got to enjoy Maison Bourbon 3 nights while in New Orleans. Get there between sets to get a good table. There were one of the only clubs that week playing blues and jazz on Bourbon and we loved it. Also one of the only clubs that could make a good Sazerac or Pimm's Cup... classic New Orleans cocktails. Our... More

We just stumbled onto this jewel, but did we ever get lucky! The drinks were great, but the music was fantastic! If you are looking for really good NO Jazz and a good time, make sure you include this one in the French Quarter. We were there one evening and loved it. ❤️ We told our wait person we would... More

For those who appreciate the jazz of Dixie and improvised solos, Maison Bourbon is the place to go.Wife and I visited NOLA in early January and it was her first visit to the Big Easy. We found the servers pleasant and the crowd not rowdy. Music by Phil Campo and his band was outstanding. It was a joy to hear... More

A very casual club… just walk in off the street and pull up a wobbly stool or table and enjoy. They seem to rotate bands every set. The first band that drew me off the street was somewhat 'rough' but amazingly authentic and they were having fun. The second band was more polished…. but seemed to have less heart. Just... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
