A National Historic Landmark, Old St. Patrick's Church is one of only two early landmarks of distinction left in Lafayette Square, the other being Gallier Hall. Irish immigrants built the Gothic-style church in 1840 to rival the French St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square.

Such a beautiful church. The altar is just amazing and takes your breath away. Make sure you confirm what day/times they are open during weekdays before venturing out.

Church located only about 100 metres from Lafayette Square and from the outside is a nice piece of architectural design. Inside is beautiful and worth a look, I attended the 12.00pm mass and it was well down and inspiring.

We were looking for a place to go to mass but arrived too late to go to the cathedral. St Patrick's was close to our hotel. It's beautiful inside as you can see from the pictures.

Even though I am not catholic, I was welcomed into worship in this beautiful, historic space. Stained glass and other ornamentation were inspiring and priest had a lovely sweet homily. Grateful to experience Hod in this place.

Beautiful Church Inside and out. It's a place where you can go and escape the outside craziness of NOLA!

It's been 50 years since I've been to a Latin Mass and it was great. The architecture, traditional rear facing altar, communion rails used during the service ... all great memories. The parishioners are incredibly fortunate to have priests that keep the tradition alive.

Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
