The beginning was off to a rough start since I felt like we were a little rushed, but that wasn't the fault of our tour guide, there was a scheduled funeral so we needed to work around it to be as respectful as possible. Our...More

I had an excellent tour with Dana. I ended up being the only person on the tour (the morning after Mardi Gras). A little hung over.. I ran like like lightning to get to the tour on time. Dana was so warm..calm..inviting and knowledgeable. She...More

If you are looking for an informative and truly interesting tour then this is it. Antonino (Tony) was awesome. I learned a lot about the St. Louis #1 cemetery and would not hesitate to take another tour with this organization.

For the tour of St. Louis Cemetery Number 1, we chose the Save Our Cemeteries tour agency. They were good: well organized, and a guide with interesting stories to share. Sometimes we "collided" with other tour groups, and had to wend around each other, but...More

I liked that the admission fee went to a nonprofit dedicated to the care of the cemetary. First, it's a little sketchy where you meet your guide...not at cemetary. You have to find the church and don't get there too early. It's a dicey neighborhood....More

Our guide was great! Maybe because she and I shared the same name, Monique! She was informative and knowledgeable about the history and contents of the cemetery, I really enjoyed this your!

Extremely informative. Despite this being a tour of a cemetery, it's not depressing. It's for history lovers! This tour provides a glimpse at some of the history of New Orleans and a sense of its early inhabitants, their culture, and how this diverse city was...More

The ground is level & the pace is fairly slow. The only aspect I found challenging was the heat. If you go at a cooler time you'd probably be fine. The guides will probably be helpful if you need to take it easy.

Yes, you need a tour. They will not allow you to enter the cemetery without a guide. This is for the safety of the guest and of the cemetery itself.
