I really enjoyed the cemetaries tour. I took the combined tour so we went to both cemetary 1 & 2. The walk to the second cemetary is a few blocks through a pretty shady part of town but with a group not so bad. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I chose this tour because Save our Cemetaries is a non... More

I recently visited New Orleans with a large group of friends and many of us made reservations with this reputable company. We are so happy we did! Our tour guide, Jamie, was friendly, informative, and willing to accommodate our big group. She was a fount of knowledge and gave us a wonderful, historically accurate account of not only the cemetery... More

Monique was very informative and possessed a wealth of knowledge about the cemetery, its history and its inhabitants. This tour was well worth the money and I highly recommend it.

We chose Save our Cemeteries group as our guides because they are working to restore the graves. It was a great tour led by Barbara (I think). She knew her stuff and was very informative. Very old graveyard with a very old history...people are still being buried here by the way! Nicholas Cage has a headstone here ready to go... More

John our tour guide was so knowledgeable. Had a great time. Would definitely do it again. Not only did we get facts, he had tidbits of background info. It also felt very personal as many of the families are his relatives.

We were in a small group with a great tour guide. He told us history as well as information about the cemetery and graves. It was all very interesting. But it was also cold and windy and we weren't dressed for cold and windy so we cut our tour short and headed back to the hotel. The area that St.... More

Really interesting place and Gayle was a wealth of knowledge. Super easy to find and really great information shared! You could really tell she was genuinely passionate about NOLA and the Lafayette Cemetary. Would recommend to anyone looking to learn a bit more about the culture and interesting people buried here.

The tour guide, Arthur, was great and very focused on sharing historical facts rather than sensational stories. The tour incorporated a ton of New Orleans history and geography, making it more fun to walk around the city.

Our Guide, "Denise Augustine" of "our Sacred Stories' group was least expensive. $15.00/per. 45 minute intimate tour for a party of four. Excellent description of site plus sharing of personal information of the site made our excursion great.!!

Outstanding and very informative tour of a very historic cemetery located in proximity to the French Quarter. A "must-do" activity when visiting New Orleans.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
