Established in 2011 - FreeWheelin' Bike Tours is a local, family owned company - Our local roots go back to a time before New Orleans was a city and Louisiana was a state.

We were the 1st bike company to offer a tour through City Park, the Garden District, the French Quarter & a nighttime bike ride - if it's not a FreeWheelin' Bike Tour, it's not the real deal!

Being born of this extraordinary city and its surrounding bayous, we have a love for our home that is unparalleled - and we want you to experience our city the way we do every day - from the seat of a smokin' cool cruiser bike.

Be good to yourself by choosing a tour with no windows, no doors and no blisters on your feet - see the city by bike; you'll be happy you did!

If you want quality, value & authenticity, then look no further - we offer the most original & historically accurate bike tours that New Orleans has to offer.

At FreeWheelin', we aim to make your ride with us THE most enjoyable and memorable experience you'll have while in New Orleans.

Make the best decision of your vacation and take a ride with us - we've got a lot to show you!

Slow down, relax and enjoy the ride,

Ryan, Melissa and Ava Bergeron, Owners

Teddy, Mike & Laura, The All-Star Crew of Bike Tour Professionals

We did Creole and Crescent Tour. We had a great guide (JJ) who safely brought us through the city. On this tour you see a lot of notable areas that you may not see with or without a car. The information shared is great, the time when by very fast. The bikes were comfortable. This was a highlight of our... More

Creole and Crescent Tour was wonderful; got to see a lot of stuff I couldn't figure out how to see otherwise (like the large city park, city bayou with wonderful wooden bridge, etc). Andrew was funny, entertaining, and very knowledgeable. There's pretty much no time to take photos, so bring your helmet GoPro.

My husband and I did the Queen of the South bike tour on 02/10/2017 with JJ. It was a first bike tour for both of us and we had a great time! JJ was knowledgeable about the area and was the perfect guide. The bikes were easy to ride and had big seats for a comfortable ride. We were able... More

Thanks JJ! We had a great time exploring the both the history of NO and the many little things we have gone by for the last few days, oblivious to the cultural significance to the city. I am an avid cyclist. I have organize rides, rode my bike to work more days than not, taught kids and adults to ride.... More

I would recommend this tour for a great way to see New Orleans, both inside and outside the French Quarter. We rode the Creole and Crescent with Laura. She was very informative and we were extremely comfortable on our bikes and traveling the roads around the area. One of the highlights of our trip!

What a great day my wife and I had with Laura as our bike tour guide for the Creole and Crescent ride. We were in a group of 10 riders and rode through the streets of the French Quarters, Marigny, Esplanade Ridge and Treme. On our comfortable cruiser bikes, Laura guided us expertly through these interesting neighborhoods with their bright... More

Was a really interesting tour and we had a lot of fun on our bikes. Saw a lot more than we would have if we'd tried to ride on our own. Great way to see a very beautiful city.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
