We'd be out and about that night and had heard the Carousel Bar was a fun stop. I checked my phone and it said the bar closed at 1 AM. We got there around 12:15/12:20. At 12:40 we were told we had to leave because...More

Had read about the Carousel Bar and while the seating at the bar was full we enjoyed the sounds, view and service from a window setting. Service was excellent, including a snack. The lobby of the hotel is nice. Interesting situation across the street. My wife...More

Thought I could not sit at the carousel - yes it actually moves - as it made me feel dizzy, we sat in the comfy seating nearby to still have a great experience. The sazarac drink was lovely, and will put some hair on your...More

I visited the bar yesterday and ordered whiskey sour with Johnny Walker Black Label... all I tasted was the lemon juice. So I asked the waitress to add alcohol ( i was ready to accept the fact that they used a cheap premix to make...More

We came at 8.15 for jazz at 8.30. Turned out no music until 9.00. Inevitably they were late starting and at 9.40 they announced a "short break". Well, it's now after 10.00 and they're not back on stage yet. So we have been here for...More

This was on our NO to enjoy list recommended by others. It only took 3 attempts to get a seat at the carousel bar. The drinks were super good. We only stayed for one drink. Would most likely go again when back in New Orleans.

Another iconic bar and one you must visit. The carousel does turn slowly. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is great. Hard to get a seat at the bar so be patient.

High price, high value. Best bartenders and beverages with a lovely, fun presentation. Unusual experience. Arrived at 6:20 but no wait.

Beautiful hotel and bar. Make it a quick stop while sightseeing NOLA. Stop in, have a drink, and enjoy the beautiful carousel style bar.

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great
story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs
across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied
around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the

The Carousel does not have dueling Piano's. It's a great bar and does have music. The bar you are thinking of is Pat O' Brien's on St. Peter St. between Royal St. and Bourbon St. 5pm Mon.-Wed. and 2pm Thurs.-Sun.
