Friendly Little Corner Bar

This bar was dead opposite our hotel What a find. Locals pub friendly staff & customers Good measure drinks at less than half price of Beale Street. Had nightcaps on both nights we were here and when to bed much later than we intended.

Small dirty little place. 2 pool tables and just a few other tables that seen better days. Main seating is around the bar. Nothing to write home about. Somewhere to get of the heat.

Between the bartenders and the locals that frequent this bar I can say the experience there is great! They have the low prices with a heavy pour to get you in the right mood, the other patrons are friendly and from all over so the conversation is great and they have pool tables for only 50 cents. I plan on... More

This was the bar we spent the most time in on our weekend in New Orleans. We tried lots of others including the madness on Bourbon Street but kept returning to this one. Really friendly and helpful locals, great cheap drinks and dogs sitting at the bar. Got everything you need.

This little treasure was a wonderful find, and one of our favorite trip memories. It's just a super cool little bar, a place where locals go. Well made strong and CHEAP drinks. A must try is the mind eraser...trust me...ya have to do it. Great conversation, dogs are a bar fixture, and the locals and bartenders are more than happy... More

This was a real find. We were returning to our hotel on Toulouse street and stopped for a drink in another bar on a corner but were refused service by a jobsworth because we didn't have id (I'm 62, she's 56). We then tried this place, and what a difference! A warm welcome and good beer at reasonable prices. I... More

Very good drinks and very cheap too!! Laid back environment, with two pool tables. Absolute vodka and pineapple is $5.00. The cup is bigger than normal in this French Quarter area. Friday nights are the best.

We always enjoy Fahy's. Katie and Jack always go above and beyond to treat us like family, and not just tourists. Simply a great place to go!

Fahy's was located less than a block from the hotel we stayed at. We stopped in for "a drink" on our way to Bourbon Street, and ended up staying until closing time. The staff and fellow patrons were all off-the-charts friendly. Fahy's is located about three blocks from Bourbon Street, so there's not nearly the street traffice in the area.... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
