Went there in the afternoon with only a handful of other bar dwellers. Was lucky there was an incredible pianist and singer playing. The backdrop is one straight out of a magazine. Loved every minute of it.

Amidst all the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street Fritzel's is a real oasis. If you want to have a really relaxing time without having your eardrums blown out then this is the place.

Fritzel's house band was incredibly talented and fun, their ability to play and interact with their audience and improvise for the crowd was mighty entertaining. Staff was very nice as well, especially Milo at the door.

We visited Fritzel's on a Saturday night and were blown away. If you want to listen to awesome jazz in an authentic bar Fritzel's is the place to go. We will definitely go back here again.

Went here located on the noisiest street in New Orleans. The jazz music was outstanding. Couldn't here a peep from outside. Mostly filled with people 35 to 60. Even bought the bands cd.

Yes, it is on Bourbon Street (not Frenchmen), but worth venturing there to hear the terrific band. Great musicians and they know how to put on an entertaining show. I would definitely go back there!

We were at Fritzels last night and it bears no resemblance to the April review about passwords and an upstairs bar. There was no sign of any upstairs bar ... and why would you want to go there anyway when the music is downstairs? The...More

Every time we are in NO we stop by Fritzel's for a few drinks and to listen to some good piano jazz. The last time we were there we heard Jim Hession, now deceased, play Finger Breaker, by Jelly Roll Morton. It is not a...More

Found this place from a list of the top 10 places for jazz in New Orleans. It was listed as #2 and earned this spot easily! The band was magical! The venue is quaint and not very comfortable, but you hardly notice because the music...More

A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great
story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs
across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied
around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the

They can't get into the bar, but there are lots of other places where jazz bands play. I would suggest a restaurant.

The first set starts at 9:00; they play @ an hour, take a break, and so on throughout the night. You may sit through as many sets as you would like - they don't make you clear out. And we have never been bugged to buy... More
