Worth the 40 Quetzals just for the comedy act at the entrance

They had run out of 40 quetzal tickets for foreigners, so after much explaining we realised we had to have 8 tickets at 5 quetzals each, like we really cared, then the guy who was... read more

They had run out of 40 quetzal tickets for foreigners, so after much explaining we realised we had to have 8 tickets at 5 quetzals each, like we really cared, then the guy who was trying to show us the route in the map, was as blind as a bat, and then he looked completely confused when I asked him... Nice walk and good place to spot wildlife if you are quiet. Come prepared with your insect repellant and plenty of water. Listen out for the howler monkeys.

A nice walk in the rainforest. I didn´t see a lot of animals but there are a couple of miradores where you have a really nice view over the lake.

This is not a tropical forest, but still a nice walk to do. Quit, good views, and some birds and monkeys to observe if you are lucky.

We enjoyed walking through this park. The flora is nice but we almost didn't see any birds. Finally we found some funny monkeys high up in the trees. When we left the main entrance and went to the lake, we watched some very nice birds.

A short walk (less than 10 min) from Posada Del Cerro, this national park has fairly well maintained trails with awesome views of the lake. Birds were calling constantly, and we saw over 20 monkeys on our hike. Bring water and mosquito repellent.

A great, quiet piece of forest for bird watching and enjoying nature. There are no guides or interpretive material, so bring your own if needed. There are 6 km of trails and several look out spots. Worth the trip!

This is a good birding preserve with clean trails up the jungle covered mountain 'Cerro Cahui" 30 km before Tikal Park. Monkeys, both Howler and Spider are often seen. Toucans, Orapendelas, many exotics birds Just 2 km from El Remate, Flores Peten
