A wonderful wilderness/wildlife experience for the whole family. We live just outside the park and love to take our guests there to see the park and the wildlife. Make sure you checkout the wildlife loop when visiting the park.

There is a fee to use the park. I believe it is $20 for a week pass. If you are staying in area sightseeing you will most likely use this pass several times. The park is beautiful and there are so many things to do....More

It was a cold quick visit through the park. It was great to see some nature still running around. This is one of my favorite places. I highly recommend taking some time to stop at The Lodges and to go to the wildlife Loop.

We loved Custer! I was so excited to see Moose! I did not expect them. The grazing Bison were beautiful, but my favorite was the wild donkeys and I fell in love with the prairie dogs! The roads were well maintained and even the dumpy...More

We loved the winding roads leading into the park. We saw some very friendly groundhogs. We would do this drive again.

We spent almost an entire day driving through Custer state park. Needles highway is a beautiful winding drive (driving speed is 30-40 mph) to the lake. We then went back into the park and did the Wildlife Loop. We were there the weekend after the...More

We loved Custer more than Yellowstone! The animals were easier to spot and the crowds were much less. The scenery was just as beautiful and we will be going back. Both scenic drives were well worth the time and we just loved every day we...More

Custer is a beautifully kept state park with so much to do. I initially booked 2 nights in the park and upon further research booked 2 more. We could have easily kept busy for a few more days, but I would think 3-4 nights is...More

My favorite is Blue Bell. The old cabins are classic. New cabins well done. Plenty of good hiking, horse back riding trails (guided). The Blue Bell lodge has good food and is classic. Reserve a table at a front window. I... More

You might want to consider Custer State Park, outside Custer, which is an amazing place, perhaps the finest state park in the country. Great opportunity to see some bison and other wildlife. Had some very nice log cabin... More
