Although I felt it was not well kept, meaning there was junk laying around that I felt had nothing to do with an old west town, the old buildings falling apart fit right in with what I would expect an old west (ghost) town would look like. Mary was great and full of all kinds of history and information, even... More

If you are expecting Disney World, do not go. This place is an 1880s town complete with many pre-existing and dilapidated buildings. Some buildings have been rebuilt mostly using old materials where available. The guided tour is given using a cassette recorder - not high tech but really effective. They have great artifacts from the era and some that are... More

We had this place on our trip itinerary all week but we kept putting it off until we were on our way out of Custer. We did appreiciate the fact that we decided to visit the attraction. At first we were skeptical but once we were inside and talked to the owner, it was quite a place! You get a... More

We visited this town to get an idea of what it would have been like to live in those times. It was loaded with relics from the past and the buildings seemed very authentic.

We took our grandson and had a great time. If you are looking for less glitz and more reality this is the place. If folks have a complaint about the conditions...stay a spell and volunteer to help out :) It is a great little ghost town :)

If I would have read the TripAdvisor reviews, we may not have gotten to experience the BEST attraction around Custer State Park. I won't slander the people trying to make other people's experiences better, but ya know what- this place is HISTORICAL, not the Holiday Inn! It's suppose to be OLD! Hence the name Four Mile OLD West Town. The... More

Should be RANKED #3 on the Trip Advisor Custer list! $5.50 admission for a self guided tour plus the gift shop sooooo AFFORDLE! The negative reviews, are so off base. I guess from past negative reviews it tells me you must have to be into the past to want to do, if not don't bother. The owner, she is awesome!... More

If I could rate this place 10 times lower I would. Most of the buildings are ready to fall over, have broken boards and Windows, have old mattress that are homes for mice that have spread their droppings everywhere. If you read older posts you will see that nothing has changed. It is a total scam. The lady in the... More

Its owned by a family that has a good story about the history, worth the price of admission. Busy time is August when Bike week is going on in Sturgis. Custer now is doing their own Classic bike show, which is drawing a crowd.

We toured this location and found it very informative about the history of the location. There are some original building and some which have been re built. The staff were very informative however the place is in need of some restoration before it is to late. Worth a visit.

Thank Illarius
