After living about 20 miles away from John Muirs home for the last 25 years and driving past it more times than I could count, today was the day when my husband and I decided to visit. I gave it very good because the attraction is free and somewhere to take a family and spend a couple of hours. Not... More

We were staying in NoCal on the coast and thought we would visit the park on our way back to the airport. Needless to say, by the time we drove all of the winding, steep roads to get to San Fran, we were completely disappointed when we arrived at the park. First, let me say that as one who drives... Learn many interesting things about John Muir's life. The Park Rangers were friendly & helpful to answering our questions. We were allowed to walk through John Muir's home and the surrounding property. The adobe house also had a wealth of early California history information.

We visited the park on a beautiful sunny day. The trees are spectacular. You can't believe how tall and big around they are. Would have liked to do a little more hiking. Not too strenuous. Parking is tough.

We did a morning visit to John Muir Park and it was a great outing. We are staying in San Francisco for three full days and wanted to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge as well. Great morning walking the paths around the magnificent Redwoods. It's a well done park and great for families or anyone. It's popular so arrive... More

The hike to Mt Wanda is a great hike. There are only a couple of steep areas and mostly shaded. It is not a long hike and takes maybe 1 1/2 hours - circle hike. Incredible views at the top - well worth the couple of steep up-hills! HIghly recommend!

We stopped at the John Muir National Historic Site on a recent road trip and what a gem. Mr. Bee has hiked the John Muir Trail and we have a deep appreciation for his work and his writings. When you enter the Visitor's Center, the staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. They show a 20 minute film on John... More

What a wonderful historical place to visit. Beautiful grounds. Wonderful that someone preserved such a historical area. Grounds were well kept and the estate was beautiful!!
