Small white sand beach in front of the Marriott King Kamehameha Courtyard Hotel in downtown Kailua Kona right next to Kona pier. The restored historical site of King Kamehameha's heiau (temple) and residence is also here. It's a small family friendly beach that's fairly calm all year. The water is a bit cool due to natural springs in the bay.... More

There was a small beach here with a little history. Check out the plaque in the parking lot facing this view.

This is a great piece of Hawaiian history. Ling Kamehameha the Great died here, and the views from here are absolutely stunning. I recommend a visit, even if just to look.

Well - yes - it's a historical Hawaiian site with some Tiki and a building. You can't go up to or in the building or close to the Tiki. Maybe I'm being too picky - but many of the other reviews talk about the beach, grass, etc which is all there an lovely - but has nothing to do with the... More

Beautiful Hawaiian village next to the Marriott is great example of Hawaiian structures. Well worth the walk from the hotel to see how ancient Hawaiians lived.

Great public beach in the heart of Kona. Awesome for children, centrally located, easy to grab a bite, shower, bathroom break, shave ice, coffee...you name it! Calm waters, beautiful sights, local downtown flavor!

An important historical site unique to Hawaii. It is managed by the National Park Service, with free admission to park pass holders.

If you can tune out the modern parts of this setting, you can reach back to another time and another world. I love this place it is magical each time we visit. Morning yoga there at 8AM nearby overlooking the ocean.

Very pretty , but not much to it. You would have had to soaked up the history of it elsewhere before going. There is not much info there. It is unique if you know a bit of the history behind it. It is very cool in its simplicity and what it stood for.

Lovely little beach with hire available including paddle boards. The snorkeling is quite good though it does get deep so be careful. Handy to shops as well, a good place to spend a few hours to all day.
