A beautiful beach with limited parking and strong undertow due to steepness of shore line where waves hit. Probably better on some days than others for less pull. We remembered this as a favorite beach from a visit years ago. Now, we have younger grandchildren...More

Had a great time! Would definitely recommend... waves were a little strong but all of our kids handled it well ( ages 12-17 ) I would certainly keep a close eye on the smaller kids.

Beautiful white sand beach with bathroom facilities only a short walk from the beach. There is a shower as well to wash the sand off. You have to walk down lava hill to get to the beach so I would not recommend this beach for...More

This was my favorite beach in hawaii, we visited 8, but this was the best!! Bathrooms, picnic areas, showers, nice beach, clear water, no real waves. There were a couple of sea turtles that visited us that day.

I love to go to Kua Bay. It's like a mini Hapuna. It's a great beach with showers and clean bathrooms. It's a very beautiful beach.

We have been spending every morning here thus far. A truly magnificent beach with breathtaking colors to leave you standing in awe. Always get here early so to get a spot. The morning is perfect for swimming to the reef and checking out some fish,...More

Beautiful, smaller beach. Fun snorkeling and excellent food truck in the parking area! Bathrooms, sandy bottom. Lots of fun!

In the summer this beach area is just the best. Beautiful water and sand, great for kids and adults for swimming and playing. In the afternoon smaller waves come in for body and boogie boarding. You can also snorkel here in the mornings and there...More

The parking lot is small and it's a slightly steep walk down some uneven rocks if you have issues with that it should be taken into consideration. But it's so worth the walk (which isn't far by the way). The water is stunning and the...More

From Hwy 19 north of Kona airport, look for the sign "West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery". Instead of going inland to the cemetery, drive opposite towards the sea. From the parking at the end of the access road, it is only few... More

If you are not a great swimmer, this is not the beach to go to for coral. There is some reef to see, but you have to swim around a point. There are better places to get in more easily. Honestly, as a novice swimmer I... More
