We did the manta ray night dive; holy cow - amazing. Diver Dan and the crew were clear and thorough (with a little added humor) on safety and rules when interacting with the mantas. I felt they had a great deal of respect for the animals as well as the experience of their guests. We had one person in our... More

Great attentive crew, good equipment and plenty of fresh fruit in the morning with hamburgers for lunch. Best operations in Kona, I highly recommend the FAIR WIND and I have been on a number snorkel and dive trips over the past 25 years.

We took the morning cruise which served breakfast along with bbq lunch. Both meals were ample. Relaxing trip both directions. Friendly and very efficient crew! Snorkeling was great, and those slides..... very fun! The crew is attentive while guests are snorkeling, so all feel very safe. Thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone.

We did the morning tour which leaves at 8am. The crew on board were very attentive and really friendly. Kayce and Boce were especially great! It takes about 45 mins to get to the snorkel spot. The boat ride to and from can be a little rough so if you get sea sick take some tablets or sit at the... More

We enjoy the snorkeling trip to Captain Cook's Monument. We have done it each time we have visited Kona. We take the afternoon trip and the water has always been warm and the views spectacular. The ride over to the cove is fun-porpoises and whales are usually sighted. The gear is provided and the cove never disappoints us. We have seen... More

Go in the morning, breakfast on the the way, friendly crew, nice calm area to swim with many many different fish. As well about 1130 you smell them crew BBQ burgers cooking. They have a bar on board as well. I have been out on it 5 or 6 times and will go again.

We have always enjoyed any excursion we have taken with Fair Wind/Hula Kai. But last week we took our grandchildren to the Big Island for a surprise vacation. We were concerned because our granddaughter has celiac disease and is particularly susceptible to cross-contaminated food. We were told that they would take care of everything. The crew were beyond incredible. They... More

Kurt and his crew start your day with a warm welcome, a safety briefing and a breakfast. And you are off, on an adventure with a knowledgeable, hospitable team of experts making sure you have everything you need to explore the many fish in the clear blue water. Snuba is offered as well for a reasonable additional fee. Lunch, water... More

So glad we chose the Hula Kai snorkeling and barbecue cruise this past January. We were cruising and in port for the day. We easily made it from dock to the location of the Hula Kai with plenty of time to spare. We had a beautiful day to snorkel and cruise along the coast. My husband loved his first SNUBA... More

This was everything we hoped it would be. The staff was friendly and super helpful, the ride on the boat was incredibly short (about 5 minutes - the snorkel site is literally just at the entrance to the harbor/bay), and above all we saw heaps of manta rays. I think the short boat road improved the experience -- most of... More
