We stopped in Ston @ Vina Vukas for a wine tasting and were treated to a great oyster and mussels tasting as well. The owner was such a delightful and friendly gentlemen. Excellent white and red wines which he had us sample before and after eating some of the food so we could experience how different it tasted.
If you are in the area you must stop by this wonderful winery!

We started by tasting their grappa- the peach one was delicious, the rose one was very floral tasting, and the unflavored one tasted like moonshine. We were served 3 large oysters (very salty) with a white wine, 2 types of cheese with prosciutto and spring greens with tomatoes with a 12 month old and 2-3 year old red wine, and our last dish was mussels in a garlic sauce which was my favorite. There was no pressure to purchase anything like the last winery as this one is really small. The owner was very nice.

Enjoyed the wines and learning more about the varietals and wine making in this part of the world. Love how passionate the winemaker (one of the two brothers) is about making wine, always learning and expanding what they do and his pride in what they are producing. They should feel proud because they're making great wine.

Attended this winery as part of a tour however this was a bit special. The wines, especially the reds are very good however they offer several varieties of grappa or liqueurs which are not only very good but conveniently bottled for the international traveler.
Extra packaging is also part of the service and just about everyone purchased something. The winemaker is extremely gracious and friendly as well. A very personal experience.

The wine here was fantastic. The host of the winery also did a great job teaching us about the process and the different varieties. Would recommend if you are in the area and interested in wine

Without question, our favorite part was meeting Dubro (sp?), the purveyor. Second, the wines and infused spirits, which were delicious. We bought an extra suitcase to bring back all the bottles we bought :-). It was a memorable day :-)

As a Tour Group we were taken by bus to Vina Vukas. The Owner gave an excellent presentation of both his wines and also liquers and olive oil.
The wine was reasonable in quality rather than good or outstanding.
However the liquers and olive oil were both good enough for us to buy a few bottles.

This is a cute winery. The owner gave a good presentation of his wines and brandies. His description was clear and understandable. We tasted several wines paired with oysters on the half shell, mussels, bread, cheese, tomato, pickles, and ham. I have never liked oysters but they were there and I knew how fresh they were so I squeezed a little lemon and into the mouth. Oh my they were so good I ate my three and a couple more. I'm sure I will never find oysters as good as these, they are farmed just a short distance away. I do like mussels and I enjoyed several. As you see I talk about the food more than the wine I am not a big wine drinker. I did however buy a fig brandy for a friend of ours. I found a small (I did say small) taste of the brandy I did enjoy. A very good time at Vina Vuka and we were serenaded by our fantastic guide Zoran.
