We stopped here on way to Dubrovnik for bit of lunch. Glad we did as nice hard walk up the walls and then down for lunch. Only need a couple of hours so worth popping in

While driving from Dubrovnik to Split , we suddenly came up on this medieval structure. The long stone wall of Ston made us wonder since no one had told us about this attraction. The driver told us about this place and the history connected with...More

It would have been nice to have a guide bringing the history to life. The walls are being restored (various areas were not accessible yet), but still the wall walk to Mali Ston is interesting and enjoyable. Our kids of 9 and 11 were complaining...More

Ston and Ston Mali walls guard/guarded the access to the peninsular. Ston is a quiet town with extensive salt pans still in production. The walls are impressive running over the hills and surrounding the two towns. The ramparts are very steep in places and not...More

If you are driving from Spilt <=> Dubrovnik this is a cute town to stop. Apparently salt was a prime commodity and traded for gold here as they have big salt planes. The wall claims to be the second largest wall in the world after...More
