We took the Resurrection Bay 5 hour boat tour with Major Marine Tours and were not disappointed. Their boat was spacious and comfortable with strategically spaced small (for 4) tables. The ranger was very knowledgeable and encouraged questions. We saw so much marine life it...More

No longer a tidewater glacier, but always a fun and scenic place to go. Close to Seward Harbor and easy to find.

While on a tour to Holgate glacier we passed this glacier, Bear Glacier. I couldn't hear what the tour guide was saying but I turned and saw this glacier and said "Awe". While far from being the largest glacier or most well known, I thought...More

We did the SUP excursion with Liquid Adventures and had just a stunning trip. If you have a chance to go to Bear Glacier, you need to do it.

We went to many glaciers in Alaska, but nothing compares to kayaking along the huge, magnificent icebergs in Bear Glacier. Seriously: do it!! Only one or two companies go there. So it's like a secret amazing place! No crowds. The lake is gigantic and the...More

This was a tremendously beautiful hike. We were the only ones on the trail and it was super quiet there. We were able to go all the way up to the glacier which made for great photos. Some areas are fairly steep, but I did...More

There is no longer access to Bear Glacier because of previous sudden destructive icy floods, which disappeared with the glacier's retreat, but it is a nice stop on the way to Hyder.

There are interesting characteristics at each glacier. This area is really spectacular and the rugged and beautiful Bear Glacier is well worth seeing. You should take a tour to really get the best view.

Saw Bear Glacier from our Major Marine Boat Trip and it is HUGE! I would consider booking a tour that brings you close for pictures.

Hi, I am trying to decide if I should book a boat or heli tour to bear glacier or if it is easily accessible by hiking - already have a different flight tour booked and trying not to spend too much more. Can you get to the lake/water that tours take people kayaking to by hiking? Are the views of the iceberg ok from the shore? Thanks!!
