I have participated in the Encounters offered by the sealife center. I really enjoyed getting up close to the animals, feeding them, interacting with them, and learning about them. The staff is great and they really love their animals.

Contact the Alaska Sealife Center directly. I believe they have regularly scheduled behind the scenes tours, but probably do them on special requests also. The staff is very informative and available for questions.
