From Räsävaara observation tower you can experience one of my favourite views in Koli, even though it's not inside the borders of the National Park. You can park your car a few hundered meters from the tower and near the parking place is a small, open shelter and a campfire place. Räsävaara was one of the places that Eero Järnefelt spent some time painting his well-known paintings.

A short walk up from the road, quite steep but worth it for the wonderful views from the top of the viewing tower. Nice way to spend a couple of hours. Also a camping grill place at the bottom along with lean to where you could camp overnight

Couldn't miss this one despite the 2 miles gravel road and short steep hike to the tower itself. Would have to say it's not obvious where to go, but the views are exceptional and without the Koli crowds

Do not miss going to this observation tower. It's a short, pleasant walk from the parking area (don't forget your insect repellent in the summer). The views are mind-blowingly good. If you are lucky, you'll get the tower to yourself for a bit.

We were spending a few nights in Koli and heard about this observation tower. Between using our Garmin GPS and Google Maps we found it easily enough despite driving several miles on well maintained dirt roads. There was no one there when we arrived and only two local men showed up during the hour or so we spent there. It probably won't be worth your time to go on a wet or windy day but on a sunny warm clear day it is a must see destination! This seems to be a hidden gem in the beautiful Koli area!
