Came here as a stop over for and hour and fell in love with the place. Her work is sublime and simply beautiful. The guide spoke perfect English and was very helpful. So please we came here.

Cafe shop has magnificent wooden atmosphere (lunch only by pre-order, but coffee/tea and bakery things available). Nice atelier and home of artist. Church has even altarpiece made of wood :)

Paateri is a must see. Eva Rynaanen's work is sublime and the church is simply stunning. From the setting, to the detail of the sculptural work, you will not want to miss this if you are a lover of art and architecture.

It is a bit out of the way, but the carvings are lovely. We had known nothing of this artist, but enjoyed learning about her, seeing her home and the church was special. Love the benches!

Been here couple of times. When i was a child and later on life. Small place, but intresting art to look at, specially the church floors and the church itself.

I was really surprised by the beauty of this place. It's along a small river Sammaljoki and the artist wanted the nature stay untouched, so there is beautiful forest around the church and the atelje. Usually I don't like churches but this one is really...More

We knew nothing of this place and of the great artist who inhabited it, Eva Ryynanen, until our B&B owner recommended it heartily. And indeed, practically in the middle of nowhere, sits this humble abode which discloses nothing of its precious content to the hurrying...More

Driving is probably your best option. I don't know of any public transport that can get you there. It is a two and a half hour drive from Kuopio.
