SAM has been the center for world-class visual arts in the Pacific Northwest since 1933. Visit SAM to see a museum carved into the city, as much a part of Seattle's landscape and personality as the coffee, rain, mountains, Pike Place Market, and the Space Needle. Our three distinct locations celebrate the region's position as a crossroads where east meets west, urban meets natural, local meets global. Our collections, installations, special exhibitions, and programs feature art from around the world and build bridges between cultures and centuries.

I visited Seattle Art Museum after seeing signs for the Kusama Exhibition near Pike Place Market. For just a bit more than the cost of the exhibition I was able to buy a dual membership and stand in a much, much shorter line to procure...More

Let’s be honest - Seattle is not a Tier One, A-List City. While we may boast lots of tech billionaires and millionaires, this does not translate into Top Tier culture. Our opera company does do a world renowned Ring Cycle, but after that, we have...More

SAM is a wonderful museum and on now is a special exhibit of 100 works by Andrew Wyeth painted over each decade of his painting life. Some of the scenes were bleak and to some viewers the works showed little color and intensity. We found...More

We only had an hour, 90 minutes would have been less of a rush. Two hours would have been too much.

Hi Lee: Great question! Senior rates are $17.95 for guests 62 and over and on the first Friday of each month seniors are free to our collection and special exhibitions are half price. We hope you come visit SAM soon.
