This is a nice little shady park, but there are homeless people sleeping on the benches. If you are looking for the under ground city entrance, this is the spot.

We Ubered over but got out in not a nice area. Quickly orienting ourselves, we ended up on Occidental Ave S heading towards CenturyLink Stadium. Our first stop was the Glasshouse Studios. There were artisans working in the shop. We browsed the store and actually...More

Pioneer Square covers a fascinating section of the old parts of the City, right back to Chief Seattle. There are many reminders architecturally of the past and today a vibrant cafe society is taking over. However, there are great reminders of the past all over...More

Do an underground tour - highly recommend Beneath The Streets. Without that, it's a nice wall with some nice areas but you won't get it and it will just be buildings. Of course, if Sports are your thing go see the Seahawks or Mariners at...More

The square itself is rather small and will not knock you out. Rather it is its historic significance and the historic buildings around that justify a walk to Pioneer Square when you are in Seattle,

We went on a walking tour of Pioneer Square area based on a guidebook after doing the Underground Tour. There was no curation on signage on the buildings to put it in context with Seattle history. if you are an architecture buff you can hire...More

If you are into history, you should not miss visiting Pioneer Square and the surrounding blocks. This is a glance of restoration of what originally Seattle began as. Lots of historic buildings, from the 1840's and the gold rush. Numerous side attractions to see in...More

Could not rate any higher. Unless you do a walking guided tour (about $50 for 1.5 hours), you will not be able to see any of the underground gems. We did not go with enough time and so we couldn't do a tour. We did...More

Once will be enough. We were unsure about the area from the reviews we had read, but because of some of the pictures of the architecture and parks I wanted to check it out. Parking is difficult and there are a lot of street people...More

This place is for history buffs but not if your with young children. The pros you will find here many historical areas. Including the oldest restaurant in Seattle, established 1890, they have underground tours of what used to be Seattle first floor. The cons. I...More

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to visit the Undergrounds of Seattle by your own, or if the only option for tourists is to visit it with a private tour?

As far as I know you can only go with a tour but it is well worth it!
