About
Get a postcard view of downtown Seattle and Elliott Bay against the backdrop of snow-capped Mount Rainier from this beautiful terraced park. You'll also get spectacular views of the Space Needle, a 605-foot-tall observation tower. Take pictures and lounge or have a picnic on the lawn. The best time to visit is during sunrise, or at night to admire the buildings and ferries at the bay glow with lights. Though located in the quiet Queen Anne neighborhood, Kerry Park is less than a mile away from Seattle Center, where you can visit other landmarks like the Museum of Pop Culture. – Tripadvisor

- lotsagoldens934 contributionsGo on a clear evening for the sunsetThis overlook is in a gorgeous neighborhood of older homes. We went on a lovely night, and there were a couple hundred people there, many with "serious" cameras. Watching the sunset reflected on the buildings of downtown Seattle is amazing.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten June 18, 2023
- Tia GFort Wayne, Indiana272 contributionsBeautiful views! Our city bus tour stopped here for about 15 minutes to take in the view and allow us to take photos. This is the postcard perfect city skyline spot. While other people were also taking their selfies we were able to quickly get a prime spot without any randoms in the background. The area was overall clean and well maintained.Visited June 2023Travelled with friendsWritten July 2, 2023

It offers fantastic views of the city from above for absolutely free! I get it, traveling to the top of the space needle seems cool, but you can get a very similar view up here for nothing! Consider this before doing the space needle! Must stop in Seattle!Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten July 23, 2023
- OtravelerUnited States116 contributionsBeautiful view of everything SeattleIt was cloudy when we went up the Space Needle, so we stopped at Kerry Park hoping for a better view since the sky had cleared. It was perfect. Rainier floated there like a Bob Ross painting with the city below, the water to the right and the Space Needle to the left. There is not much else to the park besides the view, and parking is at a premium, especially if a tour bus takes up a lot of spaces.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten August 9, 2023

The Meredith Grey's house from Grey's Anatomy is close by, but I didn't realize that and missed it.🤦🏼♀️ I would come back to this location again - I would like to see both a day view and night view next time.Visited August 2023Travelled with friendsWritten August 13, 2023

So cold today, but so worth it! Epic views from the Kerry Park lookout of the downtown area inc Space Needle with Mt Rainier as the backdrop. Some beautiful homes up there too.

This is a beautiful view on a clear day. We could see the Space Needle and the snow capped mountain behind it, Mt. Rainier. Parking is in a residential area so be mindful of the neighbors.

Stunning view of downtown Seattle and Mount Rainier on a clear summer day. Free parking on the street in front of the park. Less crowded on weekdays and not during sunset.

Definitely worth a stop if you wish a quintessential view of Seattle. Seems even the locals agree -- apparently LOTS of prom pictures are taken here. Lovely perspective on the city,

Not much to the park outside of the amazing view. We had a car so it was easy to get to and we took the best pictures. Perfect spot for frameable photos! I thought it was worth the time

Hello, what other photographs did you get of the city?

You should look to get images of the sign above the market. At the corner of Pine and 1st street, you can see the sign, "Public Market." Very iconic image of the city.

I'm flying there again in a few weeks. But other than photos of the skyline from the water on a ferry, I could not find any good angles.
Where should I be in the city to get good shots of the downtown seattle skyline. Also if you were there for a sunset, where should I be to get the right angle?

Hi, We drove up to Kerry Park for the iconic view which should not disappoint (depending on the weather you might also get to see Mount Rainier in the background!) A telephoto lens or zoom on your phone would also give you a great view from there. Otherwise hop on a ferry to get a view from the water back to the city.

I'm reading different opinions re how good the view is. I'm interested in getting the iconic photo with space needle and Mt Rainier. Is this possible or do trees, etc obstruct?

Worth it. Favor the right side of the park and arrive at dusk when the city lights turn on. At night you lose Rainier. During the day, the cranes will distract from your image.
Is Kerry Park wheel chair accessible?

With no car is there public transportation that goes close to here? We plan to mostly be by Space Needle and Pike Place Market so not sure from that area the best way without a car to get here. Thanks for your help!

I think there's a bus stop nearby. I recommend using Google Maps. There's always Uber. I would NOT recommend walking from Lower Queen Anne, because the hill is VERY steep. It's a very small park with some play equipment. The view of the city from Kerry Park and upscale homes are the big draw.

On a weekday what time would you recommend arriving to get a parking place at Kerry Park? We have a dually truck with wide hips on the back, and we're worried about parking. I'm an avid photographer, and I'll be schlepping a lot of my photography equipment. Is it a long walk from the parking area to the viewpoint over the city? Thanks for your help!

Your best bet is to go north or south on Queen Anne Avenue North and turn west on Highland. Parking is hit-or-miss, but people do not tend to stay long at the park.

Does anyone know if you can married in the park?!? If so, what's the best time of year for an outdoor wedding in Seattle?!?
Although, asking about the weather, we came to Seattle in February this year and the weather was cold, but clear blue skies and Hardly any rain. Made the trip even more amazing!!
Many thanks in advance :o)

This would be a great place for a small wedding if the parks department will issue permission. In Seattle, count on good weather from mid-July to August 15.

Are there washrooms and benches at Kerry Park and is the parking hard if you drive? We have a big F-150 and are finding the roads so narrow here.
Meg B

Kerry Park is not a park in the usual/normal sense. It is only an overlook/view located on Queen Anne Hill where you take photos of the Space Needle, the downtown area, and Mt. Rainier. There are no public washrooms, however there are benches to sit on and take in the expansive view. The street is a typical Seattle street, narrow. Yes, you can drive your F-150 and park on the street. Depending on the day of the week, the time of day etc, you decide to enjoy Kerry Park will determine how many parking spaces are available. At best, you will spend 30 minutes here. Hope this helps.
