Easy 30-60 minute walk among beautiful Japenese gardens and ponds. The place is laid out in different areas, like a pond, a highland area, etc. It was a quiet visit. nice place to spend a bit of free time and take some lovely photos of the trees and bushes turning colors in October. It's reasonable to get in (~$5) and... More

If you like to visit public gardens, be sure to make time for the Seattle Japanese Garden in your schedule. It's a lovely place any time of year, but especially in the spring, around April and May, when the magnolias bloom. You will see Japanese maples, beautifully trained conifers like large bonsais and a pond filled with mature and colorful... More

This is located very close to the Arboretum, and it is also worth a visit. It is small enough to be enjoyed in a short time, but beautiful enough to spend more time. The Autumn splendor was spectacular, and a photographer's paradise. There is a small entrance fee and it is closed on Mondays. It is definitely worth a visit.... More

Just came back from a weekend in Seattle, where there was no rain! It's the height of Fall Colors now, and I, along with a throng of other visitors, went to the Japanese Garden on Saturday. It's not a huge garden. Admission was $6, reasonable. We spent an hour-and-a-half there, and walk around twice. There were so many people there!... More

This really is a small jewel, especially in fall when we visited. A true Japanese garden, serene, the path meanders giving constant new views. The water features are wonderful. Well placed rocks allowed us to cross the little brook which feed a good sized pond. the garden area are meticulously maintain while still looking natural.

This is a beautiful area year round. The price of admission is $6 for adults and well worth it. It is especially gorgeous in fall when the many varied maples turn color.

You'd never know you are in Seattle walking this excellent Japanese Garden just a couple miles from downtown. The #11 bus from downtown (pick it up at Nordstrom's as just 1 location) takes you directly to its entrance at the corner of Madison Avenue and Washington Blvd. There is a modest entrance fee but it's well worth it.

Our son and his fiance wanted a couple of snaps in the garden with the fall colors for their "save a date" wedding cards so the 6 of us piled into cars and went on a Sunday afternoon. Finding a parking spot for 3 cars was a bit of an issue, but once we paid the $6 and got into... More

I love this place. I visit often during the Fall Colors season and in the Spring. It's a nice, tightly-packaged, well-manicured visual feast. You can also cross the street and wander through the Washington Park Arboretum for free if you need more trees and colors.
