The view of Seattle is stunning. Be sure to go on a clear day so you can see across Puget Sound to the Olympic Mountains or south to Mount Rainier. The only drawback is that the observatory wraps around one side of the building and parts of two others, leaving one side not accessible.

The price is reasonable, it's close to Pioneer Square (old town), and the views are incredible! It even has some interesting facts about the areas you can see, maps, and general Seattle facts. I would forget the space needle and go here instead!

Unlike space needle this place doesn't have crowds thronging and is easy to reach. View of city is as good, plus you get to see Space Needle from here.

Lived in the Puget Sound area for 50 years. Played tourist in Seattle this summer. Never been to the Columbia tower or the Sky View Observation deck. Went right when they opened. Had the place to ourselves for 1/2 hour. What a treat! View was spectacular. Reminded me why we live here. The Mountain ranges, Rainer, the Sound, the Islands... More

Forget about the needle at $35! Head on up to the highest spot in Seattle for a great panoramic view of the city and surrounding areas. Got in for $9 with a senior discount (over 50), student was $9 too. Otherwise it's $12.

We have also done the needle and the observatory is a way better view. It is higher and has a great view of the cities and water. Also, not as packed as the needle and cheaper. Some great information is also available while walking around. Will definitely recommend to anyone heading to that area.

Wonderful views of Seattle; no crowds; beautiful views. The access is very easy and fast. I went at night to see the night view, but next time i am in town I will take in the day view. A plus is that you get to see the Space Needle in the distance. I bought my ticket on the spot with... More

This observatory is a must see, if nothing else you see, visit thisc place. The views are breathtaking and give you a sense how beautiful the emerald city is. Lots of good info about Seattle there and you can see the surrounding islands and mountains Really the best thing in Seattle. Leaves you speechless.

This is an alternative to the Space Needle, more central to downtown. We enjoyed it even on a bit of a cloudy day. Gives you a better view of the entire city than the needle.
