This is an alternative to the Space Needle, more central to downtown. We enjoyed it even on a bit of a cloudy day. Gives you a better view of the entire city than the needle.

"Twice as high as the space needle." This is the place to go for an overview of Seattle and the region, from the Sound and islands to the lakes to Mt. Rainier to the city itself.

A stunning, near-360 view -- and much better on a sunny day. We went close to sunset, and that was gorgeous. As others have said, much better than the Space Needle.

I'm not saying not to go up in the Space Needle but we chose the Sky View Observatory instead and couldn't have been happier with that decision. First of all, it is about 300ft higher than the space needle even though you'd never know it...More

We visited both the Space Needle and the Sky View Observatory. For views alone, the Sky View totally wins! Amazing views and my kids LOVED the elevators. The Needle has more charm and history, but the crowds and cost are also much greater. I would...More

No crowds and spectacular almost 360 views of the city and surrounding mountains/areas. We didn't even try to go to the Space Needle after reading others' reviews. There is a no frills bar/small bites upstairs as well (although you can't walk around with your drink...More
