On a recent work-related trip to Seattle, I discovered purely by happenstance this little jewel of a park that lies adjacent to the I5 freeway and that connects the Convention Center to the hotels along Seneca Street. I was in Seattle for five days and had to walk daily from my hotel to the Convention Center and so passed through... More

This park was way ahead of it's time. Basically, it is an area under a freeway, that is almost always ignored in cities, that was turned into an attractive park. It has it's ups and downs. It is good to visit in late morning and early afternoon. It is well maintained and patrolled. There are homeless who frequent it at... More

You have to be a die hard Lawrence Halprin fan to enjoy this park. It is a great master piece done by Halprin. However, if you're someone who just loves public places, tread carefully. Only visit in the day time. The park is now a homeless encampment. The crazy types that mutter to themselves. Its pretty creepy and spectacular at... More

When the park was designed and opened back in the 70's it was something very different in city parks. It was a very different way of using land and space. Now it's still a beautiful space/park but with most of the challenges any major city has. If you're visiting go during the day. It is totally worth visiting.

I visited Seattle in November of 2011 and the freeway park was absolutely beautiful. I stumbled across it by accident and i spent a solid hour enjoying it. In planning this trip I was specifically looking forward to visiting and it was a disappointment. Trash, homeless and waterless waterfalls. ....

This is a very cool idea utilizing basically airspace over a major freeway. Surprisingly quite, and well manicured and during the summer weekends, you can usually catch a free concert. There also are a number of entrances/exits and walkways if you want to get some steps in. The drawback is the city lets in it's far left thinking, allow people... More

The park itself is lovely. The grounds are beautifully manicured and there are a lot of neat little walkways and many entrances and exits. Walking in the park during lunch is a great way to unwind and de-stress. When the leaves start to fall it's spectacularly pretty in the park. Unfortunately, around every corner you get hit with the smell... More

Nice little park connected to the Convention Center, has some interesting sculptures. Very quiet and calm, makes you feel like you're not downtown anymore.

I agree with reviewers -- only go during the day. I was staying at the Inn at Virginia Mason. I wanted to get downtown from First Hill, where the Inn is located. This park provides quick access during the day to downtown from the medical centers on First Hill. The park entrance is at 700 Seneca - Seneca and 7th... More

Honestly I didn't even know I was in a park until I reached the water feature. I was on my way to MOD pizza coming from the Convention center. Over all I thought it was a cool and modern park with all the concrete walls and planters. I made a point to use the parks path as a shortcut between... More
