We're thrilled to announce the new Smith Tower visitor experience is now open! Experience the world-famous Smith Tower Observatory with its historic Otis elevators, stunning, 360-degree views of Seattle and open-air viewing deck. On your way to the top of the tower, enjoy amenities bound to delight visitors of all ages and explore some of the stories and moments that have made Smith Tower a beloved Seattle gem via The Legends of Smith Tower exhibit. Take your time perusing the exhibit or head straight for the elevator to get up to the Observatory. The journey begins at Smith Tower Provisions general store - a charming spot to sip and snack, browse and shop, or purchase tickets. All tickets include access to The Legends of Smith Tower Exhibits beginning at Provisions general store and continuing through the second and Observatory levels. Providing a glimpse into a time when Seattleites were coming to terms with early prohibition and technology that would soon transform their city, the exhibits take you on a journey through time through the lens of Smith Tower. Linger as long as you like at the exhibits before riding up to thirty-fifth floor Observatory in our historic Otis elevator. The experience culminates in Smith Tower Observatory, now featuring speakeasy-inspired Temperance café and bar. With an intriguing and fun menu offering a pinch of Prohibition and a twist of Asian influence, Temperance pays homage to Smith Tower's rum-running roots and Chinese Room history.

NEAT ARCHITECTURE

Neat building with an interesting history. The top triangular section is an apartment. We saw it on an underground tour.

Went to the Smith Tower on a business trip with a coworker to catch some of the fabulous views and was very surprised with the entire building. It all breathed 1930-1940's with very nice decorations. On the elevator we were met by a very nice lady, with extremely cheesy elevator jokes which did set the right mood! Once we got... More

I'll start by saying my wife and I will probably be back to check out the Smith Tower again, but our first trip was a bit disappointing. We visited around 6 PM and went straight up to the Chinese Card Room. The space is nice with interesting facts and pictures on the wall. We found an open table and had... More

We skipped the daytime tour ($14) and bought $10 tickets in the lobby after 6 to go straight up to the bar. Chinese-themed room, prohibition-style cocktails and lovely space to enjoy the ambiance and the views. We had wine and porter and tried the poke, Hawaiian-style sushi, which was excellent and the rather small, thin oysters which were disappointing, but... More

Of course this is not only Seattle's original skyscraper, this is a building to open your eyes and ears. You see that prohibition was the law at the writing on the wall and old newspapers. Amazing views on the open-air-deck.

We really enjoyed our visit here. It was off the beaten path of the mainstream attractions and a very nice view of downtown. There is a restaurant at the top that serves food and cocktails. I had the cheese plate and it was very good. It was also less expensive than many other places.

We enjoyed the self guided walking tour as we learned about the history of the tower and the area in the 1920's. Relaxed and had drinks as we looked over the port. A great way to spend a couple of hours!

Wow, my husband and I finally went up the Smith Tower. We have always meant to go and this time we made it happen. This place is a must see. On a clear day you can see forever. It is truly wonderful up there. There is a wonderful bar and restaurant on the 35th floor which is as high as... More

I was recommended a trip here one cold night while I was in downtown Seattle. The building itself was outstanding and in perfect condition the accompanied trip up to the top floor and observation tower was educational and entertaining the speakeasy that resides at the top was a perfect end to a lovely day and with a hot buttered rum... We went to the top to the speak easy where we had drinks and oysters. We got a great view of the city and the water. Before we got to the top we went through a little museum of sorts about the history of the tower and Seattle in the 1920s.
