This is the best library I've ever been in, architecture is fabulous along with the great staff. This is a great spot for rainy day weekend!!

Perhaps the worst public space ever designed. The thought was to keep out the street drunks using putrid colors and dizzying layout. The librarians themselves rock. The collections are extensive and well maintained. The programs are engines of our city. But the building could be better razed and replaced with stacks of cargo containers.

This is such a distinctive architecture and whenever you are in Seattle, once you see this building you know exactly where you are. The architect designed this as a relatively young man. One would never have guessed that this is a library.

Libraries arent generally on my "must see" list while traveling, but I am glad that we visited. This library is HUGE, and its a cool building .. im not sure how user friendly it is?-it seemed like finding a specific book here wld be a nightmare. The tourist part of this place is the top floor, where you get cool... More

Going to a library on vacation is not everyone's idea of fun, but I highly recommend it! This library is beautiful and so unique! It has 10 floors that are worth checking out; each has interesting features worth seeing. It's free, though it's easy to spend a lot in the gift shop if you love words/books (or have friends and... I am an architecture fanatic and book lover, so visiting libraries is always on my travel list. Amazing building by Koolhaas, with lots of neon color accents, nice views and hidden spaces. Loved the gift shop! All kinds of little stickers, must-have objects and even second hand books. must see/do!

I wish that I could live in Seattle in order to take advantage of the extensive book collection at the Seattle Public Library. Since I don't, it had to suffice to explore the stacks and listen to the cellphone audio tour. The book spiral is a very cool experience (not a tight spiral, but spiraling floors),

The library system is fantastic. This library building is an ultra-expensive dump. Not library-user-friendly. It seems mostly to be used by people who are nodding off, with nowhere else to go.
