Because the Alaska museum was under renovation our Tauck tour added the William Jack Hernandez Sport fish hatchery. Great Tour. To keep up with demand Mother Nature gets a big hand from science to increase the sport fish population. Well worth the visit. Plenty of parking.

Nice place to visit; not a long visit. Be sure you find this on a map of downtown; maybe easy to get lost. Truly appreciate the efforts to conserve Alaska's fisheries!

There isn't a fisherman in Alaska who doesn't resent at least a little, the funding that went into the Elmendorf hatchery to direct tourism to its doors, when we have many existing hatcheries that are vital to our industry and need attention. I say, boycott the Elmendorf hatchery and visit Valdez.
