There is no excuse to get some exercise if you've got some time in downtown Anchorage. This trail hugs the edge of the mud flats and downtown. It's relatively flat and wide. Just keep your eyes open for fast moving bikes. The scenery is amazing!!

Perfect way to enjoy a beautiful day. The trail is accessible year round and takes one through beautiful scenery. The trail is nicely marked so even a novice hiker can feel comfortable and enjoy.

We walked this trail for 90 minutes. Very scenic and you learn a lot about the earthquake that hit. Great views of the water...very pet and family friendly.

Fabulous trails in which to recreate! Sections of the trail are lite so one can get out during those short winter days.

My wife and I have been enjoying the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail during this past Winter. The views of the Cook Inlet are spectacular as you hike, jog or cross-country ski along the trail. Bring your camera and don't be too surprised if you run into a moose or two while you are there.

I didn't have a lot of time because we were on a Princess Cruise Land & Sea schedule, but I wanted to walk some of this. I started at Elderberry, which is close to Hotel Captain Cook. I walked south about 0.5 mile and then north past Elderberry to where the trail ended at H and 2nd. Even though it... More

Husband and sons rode bikes along this trail during our Alaskan vacation! They said it was beautiful and not real hard.

This trail goes from downtown Anchorage near the train station, all the way to Kincaid Park. I've done the trail in the winter and also the summer. You will almost always see wildlife, and there are great views of the Cook Inlet. There are almost always bikers along this trail, whether winter or summer. The trail is easy and paved... More

Walked the trail with our dogs. Great views and lots of people on the trails. You can stop in areas for seating and viewing and even go higher on a cliff for a nice view of the water overlooking anchorage. Nice outdoor experience for winter as well as the summer. There are triple trails when you get in the woods... More
