This was the best souvenir from Anchorage. I have enjoyed my Ulu and purchased a few for friends and family. It took me a few attempts to get use to using the Ulu but it sits on counter in wood stand and is use daily. The shop was easy to visit on the free factory shuttle

There is more to this store than just the handy cutting tool, Ulu. They have other neat things as well. Plenty of parking.

You can take a little piece of history with you when you leave. The Ulu Knife is one of the best knives I have in my collection. Don't let the others fool you...this one won't rust, bend or fall apart.

A must visit to see how these carved treasures and how they are made. The perfect Alaskan treasure to take home.

Original Alaska, and made right there. Friendly people, demonstrating how to use the Ulu and watch them make them them.

This is one of the must visit tourist attractions where the original Ulu Knife is made. You can see in person how the knives are made and there is store that you can them. They even sell the cheaper versions with defects for a big discount. i got a few for my family an friends.

Cheap Chinese copies of all things have decimated local products. Look for a made in Alaska or made in America label on items. Sure it's mainly a store but worth the stop. Don't forget a cutting bowl to go with the knife. Any of these knives have to be placed in checked baggage or TSA confiscates them on your way... More

The Ulu Factory is located about 3/4 block from the Comfort Inn on Ship Creek. The self guided tour takes you in the gift shop around to large glass windows where you can view easy step or phase from raw metal to final packaging for shipment. Very interesting. Also of note - the Ulu Factory provides a free trolley bus... More

It was ok to go, we got some gifts but it's not really a factory- at least when we went. It's just a store. There's someone showing how to use the knives, but we didn't really see anyone actually making anything. Not sure if you have to book tours to see that.
