The depot reminds you of a time when rail cars was the way to travel. They have a wonderful souvenir shop for you to pick up gifts and be sure to read about the small engine car that sets in front of the Depot. A...More

A very unique part of historical Anchorage. Its located just a couple blocks from downtown. Also a great starting place to explore other sites such a Ship Creek. Rent fishing gear and catch yourself a King Salmon! Decent food options close as well, just in...More

We came for the Winter Train from Anchorage to Fairbanks, The Depot was just an added treat. We were there during the Iditarod, and we enjoyed looking at the miniature railroad set-ups.

The Alaska Railroad Depot is a fun, entertaining and educational stop here in town. Pretty neat history to the building too.

It is a small train station, but the best way to see Alaska specially if you are going to Seward and Talkeetna. Seward train is my favorite line and Talkeetna is one of my happy places to visit. Enjoy the view!!!

The model train displays were most interesting during Iditarod weekend. The working displays were complex and detailed with exceptional craftsmanship.

If you like trains and can settle for model Railroads, you can happily spend an hour so browsing those on display. You can even buy some based on Alaska Railroad. There are other products available for gifting.

My wife and I purchased a one week tour through the Alaskan Railroad and loved every minute of it. We took the train from Anchorage to Fairbanks and this still remains one of our best trips ever.

The Depot is down a steep hill and just on the edge of the city of Anchorage. I had pictured Anchorage as a forested beautiful small city. It is run down, empty and pretty much just souvenir shops that are closed up because it's spring....More

As we waited to board the train we could browse the tiny gift shop as well as the model train display. It can get a little crowded in the terminal.
