We have had 2 different adventures on the train. We took a day trip to Denali and then a plane ride up to see the Denali mountain which was so beautiful The weather was nice and we were lucky enough to have a somewhat clear day. The pleasance landed on a glacier where we were able to get out and... More

The train station is nice. Cute little gift shop and interesting reading about Alaska. During winter months there might not be food revive on the train, be sure to find out! There is no place tour base food if the dining car isn't open. They were very good about warning us. I liked the rail guide for about $5.00 can... More

The Alaska Railroad Depot is one of the older buildings in the downtown Anchorage area and has hosted The Great Alaska Train Show for the past 29 years during the annual Fur Renezvous (Fur Rondy) every February (see calendars for dates ant times). It also hosts other events throughout the year and has an awesome gift shop. It's a great... More

Had a wonderful 12 hour ride through the snow on the Aurora Winter Train. Views were spectacular, brilliant photos, and meals (although not included in price) were reasonable and very good. Train depot was spacious and a magnificent old building. Would do it again tomorrow.

We took the Coatal Classic with Goldstar Service, well worth the extra bucks! We sat in the doe. Cars, breakfast included which was delicious and direct access to outside balcony. We travelled from Anchorage to Seward and the whole event from start to finish was outstanding! The Alaska Railroad Depot is a neat small place to visit, if you are... More

Train was very relaxing, great views and met nice people heading to the Arctic Circle like us. Food was very good. Staff was very attentive. It was a great adventure that I have decided to go back to Anchorage on the train again.

The Alaska Train station is a lovely old classic building. You enter it & there is a small gift shop to the right, then the ticketing office is to the left. The building itself is just like you'd like a train station to be. The train itself is wonderful. I've been on it a number of times, to Denali, Talkeetna,... More

We took the train out to the Alaska State Fair for the first time, this was one of the best dates we have been on. We took the 6:15 train out 10:15 train back. The views are gorgeous. I will never drive to the fair again. One thing I would recommend on the fair train is to bring some snack,... More
