The Alaska Railroad depot still has the charm from when it was built. You can visit the gift shop or get a bite to eat while you wait for your train to board.

Staff were courteous and helpful getting everyone checked in and ready to board. It gets busy in that little building, so to avoid the lines check in early. I would recommend 90 minutes prior to departure. Inside waiting space and seating is limited, so you...More

We had a great 8 hours on the train from Denali to Anchorage including eating in the dining car and watching Alaska go by with a dome roof on our train car.

We've taken the train twice. Once to Whittier and once to Seward. A scenic ride with food service. While in Anchorage you should take the train somewhere. Well worth it.

The Railroad Depot is small, but they have snacks for purchase, a nice little gift shop, and some seating available. The staff was friendly and professional. Good place to kick off a journey through Alaska.

Went there three times. Once for sightseeing and twice when we took the train to Seward and back. Has some nice historical pictures on the wall. Some of the most unique gift shop items were available for train enthusiasts like me.

Well worth a wander if you are close by, also close to the stream, where you can see the Salmon and the fishermen. Old train close by
