Have been to Point W many times, winter and summer. Love to see the ice floes in winter and view of the Inlet in summer. If you are lucky you will find a moose in the nearby pond.

This is one of the lookouts along the coastal trail that you can drive to and park with no additional walking. Nice view, and there seems to be an ice cream truck that hangs out there. I recommend checking the tide schedule and going at...More

Located near the end of the runway for Ted Stevens International. This is a great place to watch planes take off and land. Access the coastal trail in both directions. Great place to observe moose, not always but a decent percentage. I’ve personally observed bald...More

Cute park where you can stroll and try to spot a moose. Bring buy spray though, as the mosquitos are ruthless.

We visited the park at 7:30 on a week night. The view was amazing, wonderful ocean waves, lots of families with dogs. Very enjoyable. Glad we went on our last night in Anchorage.

There a beautiful views, both of downtown Anchorage and the sleeping lady. It was fun to walk along the rocky beach looking for pretty stones and watching planes fly RIGHT overhead. There was also a beautifully graffiti-covered concrete structure. I did not feel unsafe visiting,...More

Always come prepared, as vagrants and muggers are everywhere here in Anchorage. This is the second time I’ve had some one come up fast behind me in the parking lot, supposedly for a cigarette. Both times they backed off because of my dog. Stay in...More

Popular spot in Anchorage to chill and watch the sunsets. Along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, which follows around the shoreline both ways - one way going to downtown area, the other to Kincaid park. Good chance to see moose year-round, and eagles during spring...More

Why is it that, no matter where you go in this world, tourists visit places that local residents never seem to take the time and go to the trouble to visit? I have had (one of my several) a residence here since 1994 and my...More

We were lucky as we stood viewing Cooks Inlet, we saw whales breaking the surface. There was, of course, a great view of downtown Anchorage. This small park is close to Earthquake Park.
