Close to the airport

Jewel Lake is close to the Anchorage Airport and offers good fishing, especially for children. You can fish in the summer or winter and are certain to enjoy your day.

a great picnic spot, plenty of spaces for 10 different picnic groups. There is one big area with roof & tables & electric outlet. the sand & swimmable lake is awasome. small parking lot, but you can park street side

Two grandkids look as if they have the measles from swimming in Jewel Lake in Anchorage. Stay out of the lake until they test it for bacteria.

I used to live directly across the street from here. You couldn't get any closer aside from living on the lake itself for half the price. Great place for toddlers and young children. Picnic area, swimming, iceskating and fishing. Strong community.
