This was our first hike in Alaska. It was a quick hike to the waterfall and then you can take another trail down closer to the water. Beautiful scenery... only downside is there are lots of mosquitos! Also don’t forget to pay the parking fee...More

We were traveling from Anchorage to Seward. We had heard this was a nice place to visit. Fairly easy hike. We didn't make it all of the way to the bottom of the waterfall. There was still a lot of snow on the ground. It...More

There is some steep hills but it’s a nice hike there is a steep hill on the side of the main trail that leads to the creek and you can get close to the falls that way too

I came here during my 2 week visit to Alaska when visiting a friend and came here on 19th May 2018. We had lots of fun here, the trail was lovely and not too long either and we got a good days weather for it....More

Worth the stop if you're headed north, but not a trip on it's own. The falls themselves were underwhelming, but it was a nice, easy, 1 mile hike up there. Parking is $5 on the honor system with envelopes by the trail head. I've an...More

Very easy hike with a deck overlooking the gorge halfway in and pretty falls at the end. The only drawback was , I think because it is an easy hike, all the dog poop left on the trail (sometimes in bags—gross!). If you can watch...More

Located just off highway 1 and easy to find if you are headed North from Anchorage, just get off at the exit with the Thunderbird Falls sign. Coming South I missed the exit and don't remember seeing a sign, but that doesn't mean it wasn't...More

I was really excited for this hike after reading all the reviews. Unfortunately there was too many loud and obnoxious people taking away from the beauty. I would maybe suggest a hike that is not as well known. Also, just a heads up there is...More

We sure enjoyed this easy, up and down hill walk. Wide paths to the waterfalls made it even nicer for some of our party who have hiking issues. So perfect

My two sons and I took the short hike to the falls. The trail is very scenic with Aspen and Birch tree lining the trail the whole way there. The falls are small but still very nice to look at. This is a good activity...More

I agree with Anthony D. Unless you have ice cleats I wouldn't risk it. That's an accident waiting to happen. In better conditions, I consider this to be a leisure hike. The first climb is the hardest part and it's not even... More
