Like another reviewer has said on here, it looked like the Visitor's Center building was closed. Nevertheless, worth a trip to see (and photograph) the National Register plaque/sign at the back which contains the dedication to Malcolm X. The neighbourhood is apparently something to be...More

I didn't realize there was a memorial plaque behind the building. The day we visited it seemed like a building with no other cars in the parking lot.We thought it was closed.

This site is in its genesis and reading other reviews, I didn't expect anything spectacular. However, please don't just drive by....stop and ring the bell. The actual site marker is behind the building. Mr Walter Brooks, the Administrative Director, gave us a tour about the...More

Working in Omaha and I wanted to stop, I did a drive by two times because I presumed their was going to be a replica house, nope. Their is a parking lot, building structure for the Malcolm X foundation, and a series of steps down...More

very interesting to think that historical figure came from Nebraska. I'm glad that plaque is here to remind us of his struggle.

Was a very nice and unique location. I'm glad I saw the area but I feel like more should be done in the near future.

When I saw birth sight I thought it would be the house he grew up in or at least a replica of it. All it is was a street sign that said Malcolm X that had no street and the building for visitors was closed...More

We toured the information center and learned about the Malcolm X Foundation. You learn about Malcolm X but you also learn about things the foundation is doing to help their community which is pretty impressive. It was a learning experience and worth the time.

Feel like there could have been more to see or do at this site. There was just a sign, and open fields. A nice fountain or trail would have been more visually appealing.
