Visited at 10am on a snowy Monday morning in March... just a few other families there, so it wasn't crowded at all. Plenty of staff to answer our questions and take our pictures. LOTS of great and well done exhibits. I grew up in IL and read and heard lots of Lincoln stories, but I still learn a few things... More

Great Museum, but a lot of adult subject matter, not a suitable visit for a sensitive child under 7.

The ALPM is a must see in Springfield. It takes you through the life of Abe from boyhood scholar to his death as president. Plan on at least 3 hours to view the museum. It is a very quiet place with smaller crowds during the weekdays. The exhibitions are beautiful, teaching Lincoln in a modern spin for today's kids. Look... More

Interesting museum. Very well done exhibits and I loved the additional movies. The Ghost in the library part was really cool. We spent a good 3-4 hours there. Very well done exhibits and quite an emotional experience as well.

A very in depth view of Lincoln, not just the politics, but his family and grief they endured. I admired his wife and the horrid gossip about her , people were cruel, can't imagine her strength in the limelight of people while grieving the loss of their child. It is no wonder , all the tragedy she survived that they... More

If your history buff then you'll love the walking through this very large library of Lincolns if you've been to several other presidential libraries and you're like me you've seen one you've seen them all but this one due to the fact that I live close has to be one of the better ones good for kids and teenagers

A very insightful assessment of Lincoln's life and presidency. Worth the time to visit. The films were short enough to keep your interest and the added effects were unexpected but made for interesting viewing.

Going to any museum is daunting with a 5 year old, but this one was AWESOME! There is a great balance of reading and scenes that made the history of Abe Lincoln enjoyable for both of us. The movies were AWESOME! Long enough to enjoy but short enough to keep my son engaged the entire time. Using the educator discount... More

There are two movies, 3 great exhibits and people at every stop to answer questions. We decided to pay $75 for a membership which will allow us admittance into all state museums was a plus. With this we received both of our admittance, a free book on Lincoln (hard cover) and 10% off of anything from the store. The exhibits... More
