The mansion is walled and gated for security in tracking entry into the grounds. It serves as the Illinois Governor's official residence during his tenure in office as business of the Governor's Office is conducted in Springfield. The residence also hosts visiting dignitaries, hosts formal...More

With walked by. It is under construction so can't go in. The house is large and you can see why it needs repairs. Should be great when done.

This is a great example of how Illinois wastes it's money. Provide a great mansion for our governor to live in and not a one has lived in the mansion for many years.

The mansion is nice. We were not able to see some of the guest rooms due to remodeling. The rooms we did see were pretty. All decorated for Christmas.

The building needs major work which has been put off for years due to inadequate state budgets and lack of funds for repair. As an Illinois resident and a local one at that, this is embarrassing for the state.
